Last day at the Plant Sale.

I had a few other shots that were composed & framed better, but none captured the spirit quite like that sloper in the background giving careful consideration to one of the few, droopy, sad remaining perennials a scant hour or so before they shut the doors at the end of "half price day." Consider, also, the female subject in the background to the right. She's attired in active-wear, and moving along at quite a speed in search of a remaining "deal."

I like this picture. Where was the sale?

Grandstand at the State Fairgrounds. The huge and highly reputed 3 day sale is put on annually by Friends School of St. Paul. I would highly recommend getting there on day 1 or 2, however.

Looks like a factory responsible for making lavender light.

Yeah, that one guy in the background is the magician that wanders up and down the aisles, lazily touching his wand to ordinary lights.

Meanwhile, the shift manager is looking down from a window at the other end of floor going, "You know, I really think we overbuilt, here."

Definitely seems like a cottage industry, possibly even done in a giant shoe, or a mushroom.

Cool photo. I'm glad all those plants found good homes free of artificial light. :)
This may be off topic, but I noticed the Waste Management logo on the garbage can. Arizona has the same company for garbage collection/recycling. I guess they're national? Just thought that was interesting...

I suppose it could be a different Waste Management. There's only four combinations of Waste/Garbage and Management/Control, and about a billion cities with need of that identical service.

I figured you were right at first, but then looked at the logo again and it's exactly the same as the ones I see around here. So I went to their website and sure enough, WM is a huge company with locations all over the US and Canada. Who knew?

We should all start being really, really afraid. It's only a matter of time till they decide WE'RE the waste that needs to be "managed."

How Soylent Green-esque.

It's hard not to view the world like that in this day and age.
