Cedar Lake.

Actually, likely that they're cedars.

Cedar trees are usually found in drier habitats. The cedars cousin the tamarak and the cyprus are water loving trees. However, both of those are not normally found in that part of the country. It would be interesting to get a newer photo of the other trees that are around the pond.

Even with more research, it could still have a chance of being a cedar or cedar relative (white cedar).

There are definitely cedars around that lake. Both their appearance and odor are unmistakable.
