That relationship between houses of worship and the wonder of light is made manifest in the Gothic cathedrals in Europe (among other places). Their technological advancement (the flying buttress) allowed for what at the time was vast amounts of glass into gigantic interior spaces. And other than just because they could, their principal reason was to inspire awe in their congregations. Effective.

I like this one a lot. It does have a cold (as in weather), imposing (as in impressive) look to it.
